Merlin's Behavior
Yes the rumors you heard are true. I can be quite snobbish at times. I particularly do not like strangers. If they try to pet me, I'll hiss. You may only pet me if you're sitting down and I come to you.
I think this temperament is related to my wild streak. Even though I am an indoor cat, I still have my hunting instincts. I love to spend hours outside at a time and I will hunt and kill anything that moves (and is presumably smaller than I am).
I am also the head of the household using my motherly instincts to take care of everyone. If I were male, I'd be the Alpha male - I guess that makes me the Alpha female. I take what I want, when I want and Rishi lets me. I usually win at the cat food bowl and Rishi runs away complaining to the owners I pushed him out. Survival of the fittest, you baby. Where's your instinct? |

Merlin's History
I was born to a Russian Blue cat named Gray in February 1998. I am not sure who my father is. I came from a litter of six and I was one of the two calicos.
I got my name from Laura. She says the Sam Neil miniseries titled Merlin was on the week James and Laura brought me home. Couple that with my multicolored coat and I can see why my name fits me.
Because of my name and my bossy attitude, many people think that I am male. Silly people, don't you know that there is no such thing as a male calico? |
